The bill presented by the Ministry of the Environment transposes the European Directive 2019/904 into the national legal order. The proposal introduces new and extensive obligations for manufacturers of plastic products, which include, for example, educational activities of these manufacturers, labeling of selected plastic products containing information on the handling procedure, the presence of plastics and negative impacts, or reimbursement of cleaning costs to municipalities. It also introduces the institute of authorized representative and prohibits the marketing and circulation of certain products.
